We Need Your Help !!
WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!!!!!
To insure that the USJCI Senators and Region VI Senators have the best hospitality possible, we need your help. If you can attend the USJCI Senate Board meeting in Bloomington and/or the Region VI meeting in Pewaukee, manpower is needed. This does not mean that your whole time will be spent working. The more help we have, the more time you will have to socialize with Senators from all over the United States.
Not only is manpower needed, items are needed to make sure we have excellent hospitality rooms. Are budget is limited so the more that is donated will be greatly appreciated. Items that are needed are food items such as meats, buns, desserts, beer, soda, wine, water, liquor, paper plates, napkins, plastic forks, spoons and knifes, cheese, sausage, crackers, chips, pretzels or anything else you can donate or get donated. Of course, money donations will also be greatly accepted.
Come and help out and have a good time. Please let myself or Brian Trautman know if you are able to help with manpower or donations.
I am looking forward to seeing many of our Senators at one of these events.

A message from the WI JCI Senate President
Happy Spring and Summer My Fellow Senators,
Can't believe this is my last newsletter article to you as your State Senate President. My, how these past two years have gone by so quickly. We've enjoyed some really good times and wonderful memories along the way.
Our last meeting was held at Wisconsin Badger Camp on May 1st. All of our new officers for 2010-2011 have been elected and are as follows.
Your new President will be Barb Hoefer,
Vice President--Janet Byrne,
Treasurer--Brian Trautman
Secretary/Newsletter Editor--Paul Burkard.
We still have a few spots open for directors, so if you'd like to help out with the Senate please feel free to contact Barb Hoefer. She now has an e-mail address and you can contact her at bhoefer55984@yahoo.com.
Paul Burkard and I will be working on a CPG for spring clean-up at Badger Camp for next year. We would really like to make this work out so all of us Senators can get together and have a fun and relaxing weekend at the camp and also help them do some sprucing up before they open the camp up for the year to the many disabled people that will be attending from all over the area and other states. The date is tentatively planned for Saturday, May 7th, 2011. I know it's a long way away, but we really want to make this a yearly event, so please mark it on your calendar. You'll see updates in the upcoming newsletters.
La Vonne and Vern Acker will be hosting their annual Ackerfest once again this August 21st. We've really enjoyed their hospitality, food, beverages, entertainment and getting reacquainted with our fellow Senators. Not even a cold, rainy weekend in August can put a damper on Ackerfest. Please mark this one on your calendar. You won't want to miss it :-)
The two really big events that we have coming up over the next three months are going to be the Regional fall board of directors meeting in Bloomington, MN on Sept. 24th to the 26th. We are looking for lots of representation from our WI Senators. Please try to attend this awesome event. Our committee has put on a wonderful calendar of events for the weekend including lots of hospitality, socializing, a dinner boat cruise, transportation to the Mall of America and some very nice goodie bags full of mementos from all seven states in our region.
Two weeks after that WI will be hosting the fall region VI meeting in Pewaukee. We are going to need all WI Senators to help out at this one and show our fellow Senators that WI is a very hospitable state as well. If there are any leftover goodie bags from Bloomington, we will be filling them up and passing them out as well. We are looking for products to put into them for Bloomington and Pewaukee, so if you have anything from your place of work or business that would be willing to donate items, please get a hold of me as I'm in charge of this.
Well, I do believe that about sums up the final newsletter that I have for all of my fellow WI Senators. I hope you have a happy, healthy and safe summer and I look forward to seeing a lot of you throughout the next three months.

Donations Needed ! Can you please help ?!
Hello All
Attached is a copy of a donation request letter that I would like you to pass along to businesses(or in your own office) that would be willing to donate to our region VI meeting that we will be hosting in September.
I have received 300 recyclable blue bags from the Wal Mart in my home town. All we need are some items to put in them so our guests will have something to take back home and remember what a great time they had in our region and some specials things keep.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to give me a call.

To Whom It May Concern:
When we were active Jaycees, (Junior Chamber International) we received the honor of becoming JCI Senators. This is the highest honor bestowed upon our members world-wide. We are all members of the US JCI Senate, and our region includes the states of Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.
This September, our region will be hosting JCI Senators from across the nation and also JCI Senators from Canada and some of the European countries for the US JCI Senate Fall Board of Directors meeting. On September 23rd, we are anticipating approximately 300 JCI Senators and guests spending the weekend with us in Bloomington, MN at the Holiday Inn & Suites.
Our organization has a foundation that grants scholarships to high school students for their college education. Each of our states award 2 scholarships each year to deserving students. Each of our states also have individual projects unique to their state. Some of our states raise funds for camps for the developmentally & physically disabled, some raise funds for families that are having difficult times due to an illness in their family, as well as other worthy projects or programs.
We are looking forward to the arrival of our visitors for the meetings and wish to showcase not only the state of Minnesota, but the other 6 states that are also in our region. When our guests arrive to register, they will also receive a “welcome bag”. Our hopes are that the welcome bags will contain small items from each of our 7 states that our guests can take back home with them. Examples of items received in past welcome bags have included individual or small samples of cosmetic products, food products, pens, notepads, playing cards, recipe pamphlets, magnets, golf tees, key chains, coupons for free products or food to get when back in our home area, etc.
We are asking companies who have their headquarters or facilities in one of our 7 states if they would be able to donate 300 items for each of our welcome bags. If that is not possible but a smaller size donation is, it would still be greatly appreciated, since the item(s) will be randomly placed in the bags for our guests.
In return, as an appreciation of our thanks, we would advertise your donation on banners which will be on display in our hospitality room and also in the program book that each individual receives. Many of us have returned to our home states after our national meetings and purchased products from companies that donated items for our welcome bags.
You can have your donation sent to one of our meeting chairs in Maplewood, MN or Prairie du Chien, WI. If you prefer, a JCI Senator living in your area could personally pick up the donation.
If you choose to send your donation, you may send the items to our Region VI National V.P: Randy Young 2367 East Bush Avenue Maplewood, MN 55119
or our welcome bag committee chair: Rhonda Stubbe 328 North Beaumont Road Prairie du Chien, WI 53821
Thank you in advance for your time, kind consideration, and donation to us.

A message from Incoming WI JCI Senate VP
Hello WI JCI Senators!!
My name is Janet Byrne, Senator #57246, and I’ll be serving as Vice-President this year for the Wisconsin JCI Senate. To give you a little background, I was a charter member of the former Belmont Area Jaycees, and I’ve held almost every chapter office, including chapter president. I’ve also served at SW Region (the former Region 1) as District Director and then as Regional Director in 1996-97, and in addition served WIJC Speak-up/Write-Up P.M. and presidential assistant to former WIJC Pres. Brian White. In addition to being on the Senate Board, I’m also secretary for the Jaycees of Wis. Foundation and am a Badger Corp. member. I’m employed as secretary and case administrator for the Chatterton & Griffith Law Firm and Bankruptcy Trustee William Chatterton in Madison.
I look forward to working with everyone in the Wisconsin JCI Senate and with the Wisconsin Jaycee chapters during this next Senate year. My goals, like all of the Wis. JCI Senate, are to assist any of the Wisconsin Jaycee chapters as needed, and to help with the growth and promotion of the Wisconsin Junior Chamber. Let’s do all that we can to promote the Wis. Junior Chamber and make this a great year for the Wisconsin JCI Senate and the Wisconsin Junior Chamber!!

Happy New Year Fellow Wisconsin Senators
Our spring regional will be held in Omaha, Nebraska on March 19th and 20th. As of right now, there are only three of us Senators going and it would be so nice to see more participation from our fellow Wisconsin Senators, so please try to attend this meeting with us. They truly are a lot of fun getting together with other Senators from our seven-state region. The inexpensive registration and motel fees for the weekend are also a nice break on the ol pocket book.
The biggest item on our agenda in Oconomowoc will be getting Senators from Wisconsin to help with two big events coming this year. Our first one will be in Minneapolis on September 24th and 25th. This will the national Senate Board of Directors meeting. There are going to be Senators from all over the country in attendance and we as Region VI are going to do our best to roll out the red carpet for everyone.
At our fall meeting in Sioux Falls a committee was put together to help achieve this goal. We, as a State are looking for as many Senators to attend this meeting and help volunteer in various ways. With this meeting being so close to us, it really isn't that far for people to travel and it is my wish that we get a lot of Senators to attend this event.
Only two weeks after that meeting, Wisconsin will be hosting the regional fall meeting in Milwaukee on October 8th and 9th. The last time we hosted as a state was in Prairie du Chien back in in October of 2006. We will need a lot more Senators helping out at this meeting since we as a state are hosting this event.
PLEASE, PLEASE think about volunteering at one or both of these meetings. We really need as many Wisconsin Senators as possible to help out in any way.
My last meeting for this year will be on May 1st. We will hold the meeting at Wisconsin Badger Camp once again. We held last year's spring meeting there with the intent of having a clean-up weekend. Unfortunately there were only eight Senators in attendance and no one could stay to help spruce up the camp. This has been one of my goals as President and I will do everything I can to make sure we can help them before the camp opens to the public in June. In talking with the camp director, we can stay in the lodge on Friday and Saturday evenings free of charge and are allowed to use their kitchen facilities to cook our meals. This would be such a great time for all of us to get together before the busy summer activities and vacations get started.
This will also be our election meeting. If you haven't been on the board or would like to get back into a position, this would be the time to step up to the plate. Please give this some serious thought. We have a great group of Senators in our state and as an organization, we can and are doing great things, but we can't do it with the same people all the time.
Let's keep our wonderful group of Senators growing like one big happy family.
In Senate Spirit,
From my family to yours, we hope that this past Christmas season was a good one for one and all, despite the hardships many Americans are going through during these tough economic times. We've gone about as far down in the hole as one can go. Now the only way out is to go up, so let's hope that this coming year and new decade will bring much peace and happiness to everyone.
It seems like such a long time ago that we all got together way back in September and now we're in Wisconsin's famous winter wonderland of frigid cold temperatures and lots of snow. I'm sure you can all agree with me when I say that I am soooooo ready for spring any day now. Time marches on and we just go with the flow.
The good news is that the next Senate meeting will be on January 30th at the Olympia Resort in Oconomowoc and the month will be just about over. I'm hoping that since there isn't a lot of warm outside activities going on that we have a good turnout of Senators at this upcoming meeting. There were about 25 Senators in attendance in La Crosse (which was absolutely awesome) and I'm hoping for just as good a turnout at this meeting.
The Wisconsin Senate is going to be presenting a booth at the Jaycee's project fair on January 30th. In talking with the Jaycee's Executive V.P., Steve Moddie, it was decided that this would be a good way for the Senators to introduce ourselves to the Jaycees and show them who we are and what we can do to help them in their communities.
Our Region VI V. P. Randy Young from Minnesota will be attending our meeting and will also help man our booth during the project fair. He will be available to answer any questions that Jaycees might have. We will also be looking for a few more Senators to help out as well. If you can be available for about 30 to 45 minutes on Saturday morning, please let me know so I can put your name on the list.
